Enter Robotics.

3 of us. Struck down. It had been a heavy blow for us, when our hard work had been in vain. And the one, particularly sad reason why we lost:

Sabotage.

No, robotics wasn't what it used to be anymore. It no longer used to be a time where fairness was brought to order. Two weeks of brainstorming and 3 days of practical only left us going:

(a conversation between us and the organiser)

Us : Excuse me, mr. (insert name here), two of our school's teams have just been sabotaged.
Organiser: Oh okay. How?
Me : (Does a thorough explanation of the situation while he stares blankly at me) Do you think you could do anything about it, perhaps?
Organiser: Okay. We'll try.

Having nothing more to say, we just thanked him and left. And what did the organisers do during the 2nd round? Nothing. Literally. No extra trial round for us, no making sure that the participants do not cut the queues, no organisers standing near the tables to make sure someone does not reformat other people's robots by "accident".

I'm quite sick of this, actually. And i don't think i'm going to find myself involved in robotics anytime soon. Talk about ignorance.

Proverbs 12:19

Did you even remember

How we used to hold hands last year,
and stared into each others eyes
the world meant nothing to us, and
all i could see was just you and me.
my trust grew so strong for you
but you turned out to be different along the way.
as circumstances came to pass,
i felt betrayed as i lost myself
being thrown into a world of demise,
i turned, i squirmed, i yelled and screamed
to find myself losing my very life, to say the least.
You lied.
we broke up, but no it didnt end there,
my trust for you was still right there.
nine months has passed, and all i can say is,
I don't know you anymore.

Lord, preserve me.

Pedal.

I used to think of God as my observer, my judge, keeping track of the things I did wrong, so as to know whether I merited heaven or hell when I die. He really was out there, but in my eyes, like the president of the world. I recognised His picture when I saw it, but I didn't really know Him.

But later on when I met Christ, it seemed as though life were rather like a bike, but it was a tandem bike - which could be ridden by two at once, and I noticed that Christ was in the back helping me pedal. I don't know just when it was He suggested we switched places, but life has not been the same since. I left my life into His hands, and He was at the controls. I took the back seat to Jesus, My Lord. Christ makes life exciting. Exhilirating, to say the least. When I was in control, I thought I knew the way, but it was boring. Predictable. It was the shortest distance between two points.

But when He took the lead, He knew the delightful long cuts, up mountains, and through rocky places and at breakneck, headswinging speeds; and all i could do was to hang on! Even though the journey gave you an entirely new perspective of the word madness, He said "Pedal!". I was worried and anxious and asked, "Where are you taking me?" He laughed and didn't answer, and I started to learn to trust. I forgot my boring, mundane life and entered the adventure. And whenever I'd say, "I'm scared!", He'd lean back and touch my hand.

He took me to people with gifts that I needed, gifts of healing, acceptance and joy. They gave me their gifts to take away on my journey; our journey. My Lord's and mine. And there we were, riding off into the realm of adventure - again. He said, "Give the gifts away; they're extra baggage. Too much weight," and so i did, to the people we met along the way, and I found that in giving I received, and still our burden is light.

I didn't trust Him in control of my life in the begining. All I saw was me riding alone, being in control of my own bike. Of my life. I thought He'd wreck it, but He knows bike secrets, knows how to make it bend to take sharp corners, jump to clear high rocks, fly to shorten scary passages. And here I am, learning to shut up and pedal in the strangest places, and I'm beginning to enjoy the view and the cool breeze on my face with my delightful and constant companion, Jesus Christ. And when I'm sure I just can't do it anymore, He just smiles and says... "Pedal."
